Started out the weekend by watering the watermelon seedlings at Guy's plot at the community gardens.
First stop was at the Platina Store, home of the eternal nativity scene, for a quick drink & snack.
Next stop was the Mad River Burger Bar. Yes, it is an old single-wide under a tin-roof awning. But they have real ice cream! Mmmm.
Third stop was on the bridge over the Eel River at Alderpoint (note the roof line in the trees to the left - there is a town in there). A long-time local (lived here all his 75 years) stopped and chatted with us - quite the character.
Down the hill from Alderpoint, we stopped in at our favorite deli in Garberville, where the 70's lives on. This was the art right above our table.
Saturday morning we (Guy, Bonnie & Tucker) met up with John (on the far left) in downtown San Anselmo. Yoda and Han Solo sent us off in style.
After a fun ride along Skyline Blvd., we had a nice lunch at Alice's Restaurant, a favorite stopping point for moto-ists.
From Marin, we headed through S.F., then down into Santa Cruz County for some nice riding through the redwoods.
Saturday was the main attraction - The Quail Motorcycle Show in Carmel Valley. The judges were hard at work when we arrived.
There were hundreds of beautiful bikes, plus some that weren't so great. Guy thought this one was atrocious.
Not sure what was going on here, but the dog was casual.
