Fort Bragg Christmas Tree.
We spent most of the holiday weekend in Fort Bragg.
When we arrived in Fort Bragg the Saturday before Christmas, the weather wasn't too bad. We had a nice walk on the beach at sunset.
Ducks at Virgin Creek, awaiting Santa.
The ducks and the deer are heading for that Christmas tree!
Sunday was bright and sunny (for awhile, anyway), so we did the tour around the Mendocino Headlands.
The ocean was quite energetic, making for high seaside drama.
The classic view of Mendocino town.
And a classic Mendocino Christmas yard.
Find the quail!
Stopped by the chocolate shop for sustenance to finish the Headlands tour.
The requisite rusty-hinge-on-a-barn shot.
Went down to MacKerricher Beach at the end of the day.
Sunset on the ice plant.
Monday was a very nice day. Started out at sunrise at Noyo Harbor, but had to wait awhile for the sun to peer over the horizon.
Saw a sea lion coming into the harbor.
Nice reflections as the sun hit the harbor.
The Gina B heads out.
The crab pots are stacked up on the dock, awaiting the opening of crab season. The season won't open until January 15 because the crab are too small right now.
Morning mist at the harbor.
Then it was on to chores. Picked up many bags of soil amendment at the nursery. We looked like official Mendocino "farmers" with that payload.
